Journal
This is my sketch of what my journal is going to look like. I made my design Michael Jordan on both sides because he is my favorite basketball player.
I had to change the printer so it would print on the right laser.
I had to change the material to Mat Board because that's what the journal was supposed to be made out of.
When the laser was printing I took a picture of it. This is what it looked like.
After my journal was done printing, I had to cut out paper to put inside of it.
Once I cut out the papers, I had to use the spiral to hold my notebook and pages together.
Water bottle
This was my design for the water bottle, I used a Wisconsin Badger because the badgers are my favorite team.
I set up the print settings on the large printer so I could put the rotational piece inside of it.
I went into the Aluminum setting and used Anodized Aluminum because that's what the water bottle was made out of.
This is what the design looked like in the ucp app.
This was my water bottle being printed by the laser.
This is how my water bottle turned out at the end.
Thing verse
This is my design for the thing verse project. All these items are my favorite of something.
I decided to make a box so I had to find a box designer site online and put my pictures in there to get my outline.
After I made the dimensions of the box, I clicked create outline. This is the outline of my box.
I had to put my pictures into the side pieces so I would know what the box would look like in the end. This is how I decided I wanted them.
I had to change the laser printing settings so it would print to the small laser and not a different one.
The cube I was making was supposed to be made out of Foamcore so I selected that material.
This is what the cube outline looked like set up on the computer.
This is a picture of the laser designing my cube before it was cut out.
After the laser cut out the material, this is what it turned out to look like.
Summary
I thought the laser rotation was a lot of fun! I learned a lot about the laser, and this rotation taught me how to manage my time effectively. We had a lot of class time to get these three projects done. What I struggled with was making sure I was the first person down on the laser. Setting up all the settings on the computer takes a while and printing your project on the laser takes even longer. What I am saying is that I wouldn't have enough time to print my designs because class would almost be over when it was my turn.
